Certifications are valid for 3 years; renew for 3 more years by passing the latest version of the exam (or a listed higher-level exam) while still active, and many Associate, Professional and Specialty certs can instead be maintained for 1 more year on AWS Skill Builder.
After a failed attempt you must wait 14 calendar days to retake, with no limit on attempts, and you pay the full registration fee each time; beta exams can be taken only once.
