How much does an AWS, Azure or Google Cloud certification cost?
At the vendors' US list prices: AWS charges 100 USD for foundational exams, 150 USD for associate and 300 USD for professional and specialty exams. Microsoft charges 99 USD for fundamentals and 165 USD for associate and expert exams. Google Cloud charges 99 USD for Cloud Digital Leader and Generative AI Leader, 125 USD for associate and 200 USD for professional exams. Which certification is best for data engineers?
It depends on the platform you work on. The vendor-neutral choices do not exist at the associate level, so most data engineers take their platform's own exam: AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate, Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700), Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or SnowPro Core. The data track lists them side by side with price, length and renewal.
How long do cloud certifications stay valid?
Most last two or three years: AWS three years, Google Cloud two or three years depending on the exam, Databricks and Snowflake two years. Microsoft associate and expert certifications last one year and renew free with an online assessment; Microsoft fundamentals do not expire. Each exam page shows its own validity and how to renew.
Is this the same as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification?
No. This site covers exams that people pass to earn a credential, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or the CKA. SOC 2, ISO 27001 and FedRAMP are compliance certifications that companies hold; Compliance (compliance.fru.dev) tracks those.
Where do the facts come from, and how fresh are they?
Only from each vendor's own certification pages, exam guides and FAQs, with a link on every exam. Every Thursday the site reads each exam's official page again; when a price, length or question count changes, the change is recorded with the old value, the new one and the date, and the exam shows when it was last checked.
Something is wrong or missing. How do I fix it?
Every exam and vendor page has Suggest a correction, and the listing pages have Suggest a missing exam. Each suggestion is checked against the vendor's page before anything changes.
